     There are some interesting things we can do with this size of table. For safety purposes, both the clear and smoked glass centers are 3/8 inch thick. That’s 3 times as much as ordinary plate glass that you will find in windows. The main idea is to have a little fun and dress up the middle of the table top. The next two pictures provide an excellent comparison. This upgrade is available only in the 76 inch table.
       As you can see, rather than the wood grain in the center portion of the table going in only one direction, we have constructed the outer rim of the susan to give it exactly the same segmentation as the plate rim of the table.

     The kids and the kats certainly seem to go for the concept. Perhaps you also like the idea of a glass center, but don’t care for looking at your neighbors feet. The solution is to go with the smoked glass. I have painted the area under the glass black to give a much better look. My daughter says it looks like a black hole.

The reflection you see in this picture is actually the ceiling, not the floor.
